In today’s video blog, we are talking about feet.  Your feet are your initial contact with the ground with each step you take.  The posture which with your foot contacts the ground effects the alignment of the rest of your body, from the knee to the hip and pelvis and spine..

Scroll ahead to about 3:30 in the video to get past the small talk that takes place when this was recorded live in our FB group. 😉

In this video you’ll learn about the parts of the foot:  rear foot, mid foot, and forefoot.  We discuss the difference between the supinated foot vs the pronated foot and what that can mean for you as you walk. You’ll also learn the difference between a functional flat foot vs a structural flat foot for the pronated foot type. I’ll share when we tend to support those feet with inserts and when you may just need to do some toe yoga!

In conclusion, we offer free injury prevention screens at our office if you are an active, healthy youth or adult and would like us to identify areas you may want to work on for prevention. If you’ve been struggling with a nagging foot or other issue and you would like us to just take a brief look at you and give you a physical therapy diagnosis, we offer a total body (or lower body) diagnostic for a small investment in your care. You’ll leave the office in 30 minutes, understand what your issues are and also whether or not physical therapy would even help.
