Last week, Raven Anspach, PT, DPT and I hosted a free community event at Fit 4 Life Physical Therapy.  We wanted to create a safe environment for members of the community to come and get their questions about Dry Needling answered.  This blog post features the video recording of the presentation.  In this video, you will learn:

  • The history of dry needling
  • Its Benefits
  • Risks and Precautions/Contraindications
  • How it works
  • Who it can help.

In summary, dry needling is a safe and effective treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including neck and back pain, headaches, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, TMJ disorders, and post-operative pain. By releasing tension in the muscles and improving circulation to the affected areas, dry needling can help reduce pain, improve function, and promote faster healing.

We understand it’s not for everyone but believe knowledge is power.  Fear of needles, or pain is a commonly expressed reservation, and for sure it is reason enough not to consent to dry needling. We hope that after viewing this presentation, you’ll feel empowered to make an educated decision on adding what we feel is a powerful tool to your treatment plan with your physical therapist.
